Attributed to Steve Dunn

Steve Dunn began forging Damascus in 1988 and earned his American Bladesmith Society Master Bladesmith ranking in 1994. He taught at the ABS school and later served on its Board and as Chairman. Known for his sole-authored Damascus fixed blades, mosaics, engraved liners, and bolsters, Dunn blended forging skill with engraving artistry—often in collaboration with GRS—creating intricate knives featuring mosaic steel, gold inlay, and fossilized scales. His craftsmanship and teachings left a lasting impact on knifemaking before his passing in May 2024.
