Arpad Bojtos

Arpád Bojtos, originally an economist, became a full-time custom knifemaker in 1990. Working from Slovakia and using only hand tools—chisels, hammers, files—he crafts just 6–10 elaborate art knives per year. His creations draw on themes from mythology, nature, and history, featuring deep relief carvings, Damasteel or ATS-34 blades, and handles of fossil ivory, walrus or mammoth ivory, buffalo horn, rare woods, and sometimes gold or silver inlays. Notable works include a Viking dagger and the “Hercules and Hydra” fixed blade, each a sculptural narrative in steel and organic materials
