Bob Loveless Custom Knife Green Micarta Battle Knife “JM”
This is a True “Battle Knife”, 7 ½” blade, ATS-34 steel, Double Naked Lady Logos, all stainless steel fittings, escutcheon plate, green Micarta handle, special markings J.M. – it was part of Jim Merritt’s personal collection. The Battle Knife is an extremely rare Fighting Knife, kind of a big Wilderness Knife, but with unusually shaped handle form. Back in the 1970’s Bob made the first Battle Knife for Jack Lewis – the Gun Magazine Writer. 1980 Bob called J.W. Denton to say that he made two more such knives, one for him and one for Jim. Later, Bob sold his RWL marked knife to Denton and later on Merritt sold his JM – this one – to Denton as well. J.W. Denton had only 8 or 9 Battle Knives ever – very few had ever been made – they are much rarer than the famous Big Bear Subhilt Fighter.
