Mark Roe Custom Knife OD Green Linen Micarta Pocket Clip Combat Utility Selflock

This Combat Utility knife was made by Mark Roe. Mark met Scott Sawby and Steve Mullin (Scott's former knifemaking partner) in 2002 and started learning to make fixed blade knives from Steve. After a year, Steve Mullin announced that he was retiring and sold Mark Pack River Knife Company for $1. Mark worked for the next 3 years as a full-time maker crafting Steve's Pack River Knife designs and some of his own designs. Mark hadn't anticipated the success he received and soon had a large backlog of knife orders. He worked through them as orders kept coming in. After three years of making what was selling Mark got burnt out and pursued a career as a Metrologist primarily working in the aerospace, space, and military industries. Mark spent the last 4 years working as a contract Metrologist mostly working contracts for space industry companies. Mark has known and worked with Scott Sawby over the years and made Mark's first Combat Utility over 8 years ago. Finally, this year Mark decided to quit being a Metrologist and go back to becoming a full-time knifemaker. Since then Mark has made several Combat Utility knives both his and Scott Sawby's shop. After attending Blade 2016 with Scott, Scott announced that he is semi-retired and Mark is pretty much exclusively making the Combat Utility as Scott directs new requests his way. Scott Sawby continues to be a dear friend to Mark, a fishing buddy, and mentor.
