Toni Nikolas Tietzel Custom Knife “TNT” Damasteel Mammoth Tooth w Sheath

TNT are my initials and stand for Toni Nikolas Tietzel. Knifemaking has been my great passion since I made my first knife at the age of 14. In order to continuously develop my skills on the belt grinder, I repeatedly challenged myself. This is how the desire to produce application-optimised blades came about. Compundgrinds give me the greatest possible creative freedom to grind the blades according to my ideas. Over time, the individual shape and look of my knives developed from this. From the very beginning, more and more technical questions arose in my mind while I was making knives, and at the same time my interest in science grew steadily. Even during my school days, I got hold of the relevant specialist literature and spent my holidays and free time quenching my thirst for knowledge. Through my studies in materials science and engineering, I was able to delve deeper into scientific findings and expand my knowledge. With this wealth of experience, I came closer to my goal of creating knives that are not only visually pleasing, but also convince the user in the long term due to their practical orientation. In my workshop I only produce handmade individual pieces. Handmade means that I do not use CNC machines and therefore do not produce small series. Each knife stands completely on its own, which is why I don't need any templates for production. Even before I start working in my workshop, I translate new ideas into knife designs in a CAD program. However, I do not use these templates during the practical implementation in order to give each knife its individual character during the creation process and not to restrict my creative space.
