Bill Duff
Bill Duff (from Oklahoma, later Nevada) began crafting knives in the mid-1970s, selling his first in 1976 after working at Buck Knives and co-founding Rigid Knives with partners Don Collum and Dean Parks in the early ’70s. He skillfully produced both folding and fixed blades in 440C and Damascus steel, earning membership in the Knifemakers’ Guild. Notable pieces include overbuilt fighting bowies and folder series like the R‑9 Apache. After Rigid, Duff continued solo under his own name until his passing in 2019, leaving behind a legacy treasured by collectors for its rugged build, precision craftsmanship, and historical significance.
